Logistics, Saturday lunch, and t-shirt survey

Dear ARML team,

A few announcements today:

1. This year, ARML will be providing box lunches, to avoid having to wait in line at a very crowded dining hall. They need us to tell them how many of each type of lunch we need. To choose a lunch, please fill out this survey. This is mandatory for everyone who is going (or thinking of going) to ARML, and we need your response by Wednesday, May 13th. If you don't fill it out, we'll take a guess and hope you like the results.

2. This year's t-shirt survey is now available! There are five designs competing. Along with your votes for designs, you'll be asked for preferred colors. For those of you not already named to an elite team, we've asked you to categorize yourself as East Bay, West Bay, or San Jose. This will help us determine colors for the regional teams once we've determined how to split them up.

Responses for both surveys are due Wednesday. You don't have to fill out the t-shirt survey, but everyone MUST fill out the lunch survey.

3. Briefly, for those who haven't been to ARML before, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Silas Johnson, a member of Mathleague.org's writing/editing staff during the "regular season". During ARML season, I handle some of our logistical planning. I will also be Power Question grading chair during the contest this year. I've always enjoyed working with the team, and this year is no exception. Some of you have already heard from me--if you email arml@mathleague.org with any questions about travel information, I'm most likely going to be the person replying. I will also be at the last practice on May 24th.

4. Speaking of logistics, we hope to get a lot more information out to you in the next week. I know a lot of you are anxious to find out more about travel, but there are some things (such as dorm assignments, in particular) we need to wait until our team is finalized and ARML registration is complete to find out about. In any case, I plan to have something in the way of an itinerary out to you by the end of this week, even if it's tentative and missing a few things.

For those of you flying, we're still in the process of matching chaperones with flights. Rest assured that we will have everyone in touch with their flight leaders well ahead of the contest.

Here are those two survey links again. Fill them out by Wednesday!

See you in a couple of weeks! --Silas
